The Souris Valley Model Railroad Association operates a large N Scale (1:160) model railroad layout in the basement of the Railroad Museum of Minot. Based on railroads throughout the Dakotas, the layout features more than 1,000 feet of mainline track, detailed scenery, industries, bridges, and realistic railroad operations.
Every visit offers something new to discover, from long freight trains and passenger service to detailed scenes inspired by railroad history in North Dakota and beyond.
The Souris Valley Model Railroad Association is an independent organization that meets at the Railroad Museum of Minot.
The layout is operated by volunteers and is only open when a club member is present.
Interested in operating trains, building scenery, learning model railroading, or participating in operating sessions? New members are always welcome.
Contact the Souris Valley Model Railroad Association for membership information, meeting schedules, and current requirements.
Take a virtual cab ride through the layout and experience the railroad from the engineer's perspective.
